How does it feel to make the Top Ten list for Healthcare Business Review?
“Making this list is fantastic and comes at a really great time,” says Dr. Bradford Kolb, President of HRC Fertility medical group. Dr. Kolb adds “We always strive to be top innovators and care providers, and over the last few years, we have been able to add even more top-notch physicians and expand our work to reach more individuals seeking to create a family.” Furthermore, he states, “I am so proud we can share this recognition with all our physicians, support staff and patients.” Dr. Kolb is part of the medical leadership of HRC Fertility, joining the practice in its early years in Pasadena, California. Talk to us about the compassionate care HRC Fertility provides?
“HRC Fertility firmly believes in patient-centered, compassionate care. The decision to plan for a family in the future, or to try to build a family now, is a very personal decision,” shares Dr. Shahin Ghadir, who practices at HRC Fertility’s Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles offices. Adding further, Dr. Ghadir states “Patient centered care is key in all healthcare services, but fertility care is a particularly emotional experience for many patients, and at HRC Fertility, we recognize this. Starting from the first day of care to graduation day from our care, our aim is to provide compassionate care to our patients, providing them with financial counseling resources, coordinating their care, and providing a range of IVF programs and packages to choose from so that our patients find the best fit for them.” Dr. Ghadir is an integral part of the fertility care community, bringing significant experience and passion to his practice. Dr. Ghadir is excited to be a part of the key HRC Fertility team at its newest location in Beverly Hills and looks forward to serving patients in the west Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Bevely Hills communities.
What are some of the innovations HRC Fertility offers to support its medical practice?
“This is a great question—HRC Fertility is dedicated to keeping up with the rapidly changing science of fertility treatments, adopting the newest innovations and advances into practice,” states Dr. Molly Quinn, reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist at HRC Fertility in Pasadena, California. Dr. Quinn goes on to add, “and as only a representative sample of our innovative care, I would say our RI Witness™ and our 3D embryo imaging are great examples. RI Witness™ is technology that HRC Fertility adopted a few years ago, primarily relevant to its embryology laboratory. The RI Witness™ is an electronic witnessing system created to minimize errors that may occur during ART treatment cycles and to support embryologists in their daily work.
The program guides and supports embryologists by monitoring sample movement from one dish or tube to another within the laboratory. A medical practice that uses this program illustrates its dedication to patient care by taking extra measures to ensure safety. Additionally, HRC Fertility is now piloting a 3D time lapse embryo imaging program to assist with understanding early embryonic development. This program will help us understand how time lapse parameters may shed light on embryonic fitness, potentially assisting in the selection of embryos with a higher success rate.” Dr. Quinn received her medical degree from the School of Medicine at UCLA and completed her specialty and subspecialty training at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Quinn is excited to advance her practice at HRC Fertility.
How does your day-to-day practice support your vision and mission?
Dr. Lisa Becht, a reproductive and IVF specialist at HRC Fertility’s Orange County, California locations, including Newport Beach and Mission Viejo offices, shares her thoughts on HRC Fertility’s mission and vision. Dr. Becht states, “Our mission is many-fold, but a primary focus is to strive to provide meaningful access to family building, family planning and IVF and infertility services to as many walks of life as we can. This includes individuals who want to freeze their eggs or sperm for a later time in their life when they will be ready to start thinking of building a family, to LGBTQ+ family building, and to persons who are ready to start their family today. HRC Fertility offers a wide range of packages and options for its patients, depending on their personal goals, and of course, on their medical status. As an example, our Dream Plus Embryo Banking package and our Egg Freezing promotion both empower patients to create and move forward with their family building journey on their own timeline. We also offer incredible all-inclusive packages such as our Nest and Stork packages, along with our classic Dream Package.” Dr. Becht goes on to add, “It’s really remarkable to provide care in an environment focused on creating accessibility to IVF and fertility care through such carefully crafted programs.” Dr. Becht graduated summa cum laude from Boston University undergrad, and with honors from Georgetown University School of Medicine, completing both her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital.
