Lott Physical Therapy and Fitness Center encourages patients to live happy, active lifestyles that promote longevity and movement.
“We primarily cater to the golden years population, helping them overcome pain, regain mobility, and experience the infinite ‘Fountain of Youth,” says David Lott, PT, DPT, OCS, Owner, Lott Physical Therapy. “There is an undeniable sense of pride that fills us when they leave with a smile, waving and saying, “I should have come to you 15 years ago!”
Rather than aiming for quick and temporary fixes, Lott Physical Therapy emphasizes educating and empowering patients to complete the full cycle of recovery with its proven three-phase physical therapy program—Pain, Movement, and Strength.
The combination of an outpatient clinical practice and a full-service 24/7 fitness center is rare, and Lott Physical Therapy brings a world of difference with this unique approach. It facilitates a transformative rehab journey through simple yet powerful manual therapy techniques. Patients are transitioned toward an active and independent home exercise or fitness center plan, ensuring a continuum of care. The clinical team members pride themselves on maintaining their accessibility to former patients so that patients achieve full recovery or maximize their independent function.
The journey of the small, family-owned clinic began when David and Lisa Lott, a Nurse Practitioner, noted the increase in patients with recurring back pain. They realized the limitations of conventional approaches to pain management and spurred their inventive: Pain, Movement, and Strength rehabilitation program
“We believe in educating patients while we treat them, so they can learn what caused their condition and how to prevent future problems. Not the best business plan, but that’s what we believe our ultimate role is in our communities,” says Lisa Lott.
The clinic offers comprehensive Physical Therapy services, including orthopedic preventative and post-operative care, management of neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, as well as treatment for injuries resulting from sports and accidents.
In the initial phase of treatment, an array of manual therapy and muscle energy techniques are employed to effectively control and reduce pain that is often contributed to by muscle guarding.
Once patients are free from pain, they are transitioned to the next phase of ergonomic training and therapeutic exercises, meticulously tailored to their condition to optimize the patient’s recovery of their pain-free range of motion. With pain-free range of motion, patients are able to rediscover their mobility and reclaim a life free from the limitations of pain.
Once a patient achieves full pain-free movement, restoring strength is the final phase. Equipped with top-of-the-line therapeutic exercise equipment, including balance plates, cardio, and NeuroCom systems, the facility offers continued guidance for post-operative rehabilitation, strength training, balance, and sports performance enhancement. It has also expanded its scope of services to vestibular rehabilitation treatments for individuals experiencing persistent dizziness and vertigo.
The driving force behind Lott Physical Therapy is its cadre of board-certified clinical specialists and McKenzie-certified therapists, distinguished by their in-depth expertise and doctoral degrees. They emphasize the core value of enabling patients to discover and acknowledge their body’s inherent resilience.
“We are one of the very few that spend a ton of time with patients one-on-one,” says Seth Watson, Owner and Director of Physical Therapy Operations, Physical Therapy Operations, Lott Physical Therapy.
The outcome of this approach is reflected in its net promoter score of at least 95 percent, unheard of in clinical settings.
Apart from personalized sessions, its therapists perform annual follow-ups through standardized PT wellness exams. The PT Wellness exam consists of five functional tests to assess walking, posture, flexibility, balance, and strength to give the doctors a snapshot of each patient’s overall health. When there is a regression in a patient’s progress, this data is leveraged to assist them in quickly getting back on track.
With strategically located facilities in Fairfield and Corsicana, Lott Physical Therapy aims to promote rejuvenation and vitality within Texas’ senior community. In addition to guiding the local community to an active, independent lifestyle, Lott Physical Therapy is also committed to enhancing the physical therapy profession. The clinic trains student physical therapists in collaboration with schools in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. In addition, the clinic has recently developed a mentorship program for entry-level providers that provide valuable guidance and preparation for their clinical specialist exams.
Drawing on more than two decades of clinical excellence, Lott Physical Therapy remains steadfast in its commitment to offering an exemplary rehabilitation journey for the well-being of their communities.
